Blue Devil Herbarium

Project Lead(s): Kathleen Pryer, Andrew Griebeler, Hannah L. Jacobs

2024

The Duke Herbarium is slated to be rehomed at another institution in a couple of years. This decision has raised questions both at Duke and around the country about what herbariums are and what they do. This project aims to address these questions and to document, celebrate, and promote the Duke herbarium’s historical contributions through an educational social media project. This project aims to increase awareness for the roles that herbaria play, while also documenting the long process of the herbarium’s rehoming.
