Exhibition Catalog Features Work from Mapping Occupied Krakow

DAHVCR Lab work was recently featured in the catalog for the exhibition “Unwanted Capital: Architecture and Urban Planning in Krakow during the German Occupation 1939-45.” The exhibition (curated by the International Cultural Center in Krakow) was held in Summer 2022 and featured photographs and drawings of multiple construction sites in Nazi-occupied Krakow. Book of Fortresses Summer Updates

by Xinyue Gao The Book of Fortresses project seeks to spatially reconstruct an exceptional architectural source called the Livro das Fortalezas, which contains 120 perspective drawings and plans of 55 fortresses on Portugal’s border with Spain in 1510. GIS and 3D modeling techniques are used to translate the book into a comprehensible spatial source for modern viewers. DAHVC & AAHVS Receive Trinity Research Enhancement Awards

We’re thrilled to share that the department of Art, Art History, and Visual Studies, which houses the Digital Art History & Visual Culture Research Lab, has received a $12,000 Trinity Research Enhancement award for 2022-23 to support undergraduate research that leads to graduation with distinction. The award specifically supports undergraduate students working with DAHVC projects on specialty research related to their graduation with distinction projects.
